ABOUT MRS. KOK

When working with Mrs. Kok at CPS, time is taken to do more than find the right 'college fit.’  Relationships are formed between the students and the families. Mrs. Kok’s life has been spent helping students in the educational setting.  She has worked with 1000s of students as a secondary counselor for over 25 years with 15 of those years in college counseling. Over 200 colleges on her group email list allows her to confer with them and constantly get their updates and share ideas.
Mrs. Kok continues to update her knowledge of institutions around the country including what they offer both academically and opportunities for growth as students. Because of her knowledge, Mrs. Kok can help the student to research their specific colleges/universities.

Working with Students
When working with students, her goal is to help them do more than “go to college.” She wants them to understand the process in relation to their interests and their opportunities for growth. Each student is different and their journey is different. If a student discovers their interests and goals, can understand the “college process,” and then work on tasks to complete the process, they will gain a feeling of success and transition into college and beyond carrying these life skills with them.
